About La Chula Crew

  1. Redesign the Resources page to improve its information architecture and make its services more readable.
  2. Streamline the process of signing up to volunteer for events and
  3. Overall, improve the user experience of La Chula Crew's website in order to better serve their audience.

1. Understanding the Problem

With an increasing number of volunteers and those in need of services, La Chula Crew needs to grow along with the numbers. Overall, the website can be more user-friendly and accessible for people with language barriers and older populations.

2. User Research

Learning From Our Users

La Chula Crew’s primary users include volunteers, who are primarily women aged 18-45, or service users, who are primarily women aged 30+. Many of these community members are native Spanish speakers who primarily find out about events through word-of-mouth.

We developed a Google Forms survey with Spanish translations to understand users’ experiences with the website. Then, we conducted interviews to observe users’ interactions with the resources and volunteer pages. Here are some of our key insights:
