A website redesign aimed at increasing accessibility to volunteer signups and outreach events

They believe in the power of positivity and support to uplift people, promote small businesses, and empower individuals to make a positive impact on their communities.

With an increasing number of volunteers and those in need of services, La Chula Crew needs to grow along with the numbers. Overall, the website can be more user-friendly and accessible for people with language barriers and older populations.

La Chula Crew’s primary users include volunteers, who are primarily women aged 18-45, or service users, who are primarily women aged 30+. Many of these community members are native Spanish speakers who primarily find out about events through word-of-mouth.
We developed a Google Forms survey with Spanish translations to understand users’ experiences with the website. Then, we conducted interviews to observe users’ interactions with the resources and volunteer pages. Here are some of our key insights:
